What do Non-Tomato Ketchup, Salsa, and Granola Have in Common?

April 4, 2023

Holly Valencia and her husband, Hector, make some dang good food.

Holly’s passion for making all-natural, healthy food combined with Hector’s cooking skills have helped them build a brand that’s known for healthy, delicious kinds of ketchup, salsas, and granola. I got to chat with Holly for a bit to learn more about her story both at work and at home, and I’m excited to share it with you.

Holly grew up on a farm, growing organic foods and cooking homemade meals. She and Hector knew they could combine their talents and passions to build a business after moving back to Holland, Michigan after 10 years in Las Vegas. She says, “You can take what’s in nature, create the right combination, and make it taste good without all the sugar and preservatives.” And that’s what Good Life Naturals is all about.

For those who’ve never heard of Good Life Naturals, they make delicious ketchups, salsas, and granola that are made from clean, simple ingredients (visit goodlifenaturals.com). All their recipes start with organic, non-GMO, quality ingredients. They put these ingredients together from their hearts, and you can definitely taste and feel the passion when you take a bite!

Good Life Naturals is a labor of love for Holly, Hector, and their kids. Their two teenage kids stay busy with school, sports, and activities, and sometimes they help with cooking, packaging, and hanging out at local farmer’s markets. Holly told me a story of a time when Hector was still on oxygen after being sick with Covid, so the whole family had to jump in and help. She says, “Every once in a while [my kids] come help us. When we have big orders, we all work together to get it all done: palletizing, stamping boxes, labeling, filling bags, etc.” For Holly, being a full-time business owner and a full-time mom is a hard balance, but she absolutely loves what she does.

If you haven’t seen Good Life Naturals at any local West Michigan farmer’s markets, you can get it at specialty Meijer stores, and soon their products will be available at more locations across Michigan, and in Texas. They’re also available to purchase directly from their website, or on Amazon.com. Eat what’s good!

Psst... Hey!
